                              ORDINANCE NO.   9987 
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO PERMIT ADULT ORIENTED ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE
                   M-1 MANUFACTURING ZONE BY SPECIAL PERMIT.

              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as amended, 
the
         Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
              	   SECTION 1.	  That Article V, Section 1001 (4), be
         amended to add the following:
                   1001 (4)  except that adult oriented
                             establishments, as defined and
                             restricted by Article VIII, shall be
                             subject to the issuance of a Special
                             Permit by the Board of Zoning
                             Appeals in accordance with the
                             requirements of Article VIII.
        
         	   SECTION 2.	  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as required by law.
